Ruto Announces Major Road Projects for Likuyani
President William Ruto on Sunday, 11th October 2026, made key development announcements while at St. Marks Catholic Church in Nzoia, Matunda.
The President revealed that the contractor for the Matunda Kona Junction to Brigadier road will be on site this week. He further stated that he will personally return to launch the project in two weeks’ time, after Mashujaa Day (20th October).
On the long-awaited Maili Tisa (Lisseru)–Kitale road expansion, President Ruto announced that construction works will commence before Christmas.
The announcements were received with optimism by residents who have long complained about the poor state of the two roads, which are critical for transport, business and access to services in Likuyani and the wider region.
