Salasya Offers Handshake to Linda Mwananchi After Shianda Rally
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has called for a ceasefire with Senator Edwin Sifuna and expressed readiness to engage the Linda Mwananchi team.
In a statement following the Linda Mwananchi rally at Shianda Market, Salasya said he was pleased by the political tolerance shown, noting that no one attacked him or used the microphone to make personal remarks against him.
He revealed that Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya invited him to join the Linda Mwananchi team and take the number 7 position. Salasya said he appreciated the gesture and took it in good faith.
“In the spirit of unity, I therefore call for a ceasefire and give Senator Edwin Sifuna the green light to pursue his political ambitions, whether for the presidency or any other position he may aspire to,” he stated.
Salasya added that he would reach out to the Linda Mwananchi team for a handshake, arguing that despite political differences, they remain one team with a common interest: Team Wantam.
He urged leaders to embrace dialogue, respect and political tolerance going forward.
