MCA Aduda Okwiri Hits Back at Governor Barasa
Kisa East Member of County Assembly Aduda Okwiri has strongly responded to Governor Fernandes Barasa, denying allegations that he resigned from the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) to join UDA.
Speaking publicly, Okwiri challenged the Governor over the claims.
“Wewe Barasa ndio ulisema kwamba nimejiuzulu kutoka DCP ati nikaingia UDA. Ulisikia wapi? Hapa ni wapi?” Okwiri asked.
He went further and accused Barasa of targeting MCAs who do not support him, claiming the Governor uses goons to intimidate them.
“Usipige MCA wenye hawakuksupport. Lazima uwapige na goons,” he said.
Okwiri also declared that Barasa is “Wantam,” aligning himself with the opposition side.
The exchange adds to the growing political tension in Kakamega County as different camps continue to trade accusations ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Questions on the ground:
Are claims of intimidation and use of goons in Kakamega increasing?
How will these public confrontations shape the political environment in the county?
Stay informed. Stay ahead.
