Efforts to expand electricity access in Likuyani Constituency have received a boost following the delivery of 71 electricity poles for last mile connectivity in Kona Mbaya, Lunani village.
According to local leadership, the project falls under the Nurugizani electrification program, which aims to connect more households and businesses to the national grid.
In addition to the Lunani rollout, about 20 existing transformers across the constituency are currently being utilized or upgraded at different stages of implementation. These are expected to support wider distribution and improve access to reliable electricity in several areas.
If fully implemented, the projects could play a key role in enhancing economic activities, supporting small businesses, and improving living standards for residents.
However, residents will be keen to see timely completion, actual household connections, and consistency in power supply — issues that have affected similar projects in the past.
Likuyani Digest will continue to monitor progress and gather feedback from residents on the impact of these electrification efforts.
